Principle of environmental chamber for bag method VOC detection

One or more test samples placed in the sampling bag are heated to temperature, and then a small portion of the gas in the sampling bag is collected to measure the test concentration. By comparing the test concentration to the corresponding blank concentration, the bag value of VOCs, formaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds diffusing from a test sample can be calculated.

[Prepare for test]

1. Cleaning of sampling bags

1.1. Connect the PTFE tube to the sampling bag cover;

1.2. Fill the bag with dry nitrogen or air, and then empty the bag with a pump;

1.3. Repeat the filling and emptying operations three times.

2. Preparation of sampling bags

After cleaning, cut one end of the sampling bag and place one or more test samples into it. Fold the cut end of the sampling bag and seal it securely using a sealing material such as tape or heat glue. Fill the sampling bag with dry nitrogen or air, and then empty the bag. Fill the bag with another 5 liters of dry nitrogen or air. The same sequence of operations should be applied to empty sampling bags as blanks.

[Emission test]

Place the sampling bag containing one or more test samples and the blank bag into a constant temperature oven and maintain it at 65°C ±1°C. Thread the PTFE tubing attached to each bag through the appropriate opening in the oven. The two sampling bags should be heated within the specified time of 2 hours ± 5 minutes. The test time is calculated from the time the sampling bag is placed in the constant temperature oven.
